Weeks Fourteen Through Sixteen

Throughout the month of April it was getting progressively warmer. Finally, on April 29th, the temperature was at a toasty seventy degrees. Because I only brought sweaters, boots, and long pants, I decided to go buy thinner shoes and shorts. The next day I went to class in my new clothes. When I woke up on May 1st, it was raining. It rained all day, but I didn't think anything of it until I was talking on the phone with my mom that night. I told her it was raining and I looked out the window. I amended my previous statement: It was snowing. It proceeded to snow all night and the next two days.

Suffice it to say that my classmates and coworkers were not pleased. In fact, today my Children's Literature professor actually apologized for "the weather on behalf of all Wisconsin."

But mercurial weather aside, nothing much has been going on. Classes are officially over on the seventh, and I return home on the fifteenth.

Weeks Eleven Through Thirteen

Alright, so I haven't posted anything since Spring Break. I don't really have an excuse, either, because I haven't been exceptionally busy. I just haven't had much of anything to say.

Last weekend I met a group of amazing people and joined their ranks. I have been christened "the new girl," although most of them have already memorized my name. I haven't been able to keep up with everyone else's names though, as I am bad with names and there are approximately fifteen of them for me to memorize.

Most of the snow had melted by the week before last. And then, last week, it began to rain. The rain proceeded to turn into snow after one day, and it snowed for three days. It is beginning to melt again because the snow turned back into rain.

So, yeah, that's what has happened since my last post.

Week Ten

This week was spring break. Apart from doing nothing, which I did the majority of my time off, I went out and filmed a tour of Menomonie and South Campus. Here it is for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to taunt me about the poor production quality and my incessant yammering.

Weeks Eight and Nine

These weeks were nothing but the usual classes and midterms. Because nothing out of the usual occurred here, I will put up the two videos I recorded on my first day to compensate for the lack of intrigue.

I will be making a few more videos in the following weeks.

Weeks Six and Seven

Okay, so all week last week was the same as usual. However, that Saturday I went with Valerija, VJ, and Kalofer to an African Fashion Show/Dance Show. It was extremely disorganized but fun, and I took lots of photos. Take a look:

Cool, right? Anyways, this week was just usual classes and work too, at least until the weekend. On Friday I blew off going to my Biology class so that I could go to the Mall of America a second time. That sounds pretty bad, but I only blew off the class because I made an A on my first test.

At any rate, I hung around the mall with Mahir and Waheed. It actually got pretty interesting because Mahir wanted to get some swim trunks, which sounds all fine and dandy but actually was ridiculously difficult. We went to six stores before we finally found any at all, and to two stores after that because the ones we found weren't good enough. Hahaha, eventually he decided on a pair... five minutes before the bus to take us back to campus was scheduled to leave.

Mahir, Julia (Me), and Waheed
When we got back to campus, I decided to go see the movie Warm Bodies. It was hilarious, I will buy it whenever it comes out on DVD, Blueray, or whatever, and I will definitely be reading the book.
